  Handloom soft silk sarees are lightweight, handwoven drapes known for their buttery-smooth texture, rich zari or thread-work, and effortless pleating. 

  Key Specifications & Features

  • Fabric Composition: Pure mulberry or fine soft silk blends, often featuring a double-warp construction that gives the fabric a rich texture and durability. 

  • Dimensions: Typically 5.5 meters for the main saree drape and an additional 0.7 to 0.8 meters for an unstitched matching blouse piece.  

  • Design Elements: Embellished with traditional jacquard, gold/silver zari woven motifs (such as paisleys, peacocks, or floral buttis), and contrast or rich grand pallus. 

  • Weight & Comfort: Unlike stiff traditional Kanjeevarams, soft silks weigh around 500–530 grams, making them significantly lighter and easier to drape for long hours. 

  • Authenticity Markers: Genuine pieces often feature a silk mark label or tiny pinholes along the self-finished weaving edge to prove manual artisan weaving.

  Care Instructions

  • First Wash: Strictly dry clean only for the initial clean.

  • Subsequent Cleans: Gently hand wash in cold water using a mild silk-suitable detergent or baby shampoo if dry cleaning is unavailable.

  • Drying & Storage: Air dry completely in the shade; never wring the fabric or use a machine dryer. Store in breathable cloth bags with moisture absorbents like silica gel.
